Who can take advantage of the Food Pantry?

You can visit the Food Pantry if you’re finding it’s hard to make ends meet. If you are having difficulty paying all the bills and putting healthy, nutritious food on the table, you are welcome at the Food Pantry. The pantry can supply you with food, saving you money to use for other essentials.

There are no questions or requirements about income. We will ask you to sign in, provide your family size and Zip Code. All food is free. Bread Shed visits have no limit and the Food Pantry can be visited once per week. We currently require all visitors to wear a mask and observe social distancing rules.



What is available in the Thrift Shop?

The Thrift Shop has a wide, ever changing inventory of items for sale. We rely on donations of good quality used items and as we are re-sale shop, our prices are very low. Here are some examples of items we sell:

Clothing: Adult and children’s clothing and shoes. Accessories, underwear, pajamas and socks are also available.

Housewares: Linens, blankets, pillows, dishes, knick knacks, kitchen tools and household decorations.

Toys and movies: Children’s toys for all ages, games, coloring books, movies, children’s story books.

Seasonal items: Paper goods (napkins, tablecloths, wrapping paper), seasonal decorations. All are changed out by season.

 

What type of donations does the Thrift Shop accept?

All donated items must be useable, in good working condition and able to be re-sold.  Please understand that if an item is not usable, we will decline the donation.  At this time, we cannot accept books.

Donations are accepted only during our open hours.  If you have a question about a donation, please contact us at (585) 554-6056.

Friendship House partners with the St. Pauley Textile Group to recycle clothing. They have a donation shed in the parking lot. Any donations dropped off to St. Pauley go directly to them and do not stay at the Friendship House.
